Upskilling that people actually finish

Self-paced training is abandoned by most of the people who start it. TutorialCool is the facilitation platform for live peer-study groups: your curriculum, your educators, running around the clock and around the shift pattern.

The problem

Why upskilling budgets get wasted

Self-paced upskilling is abandoned

Studies of large-scale self-paced learning report completion between 3 and 15 per cent (MIT, Columbia Teachers College, Open University UK). The cause is isolation, not content quality.

The cost of that is not small

At $2,500 per seat for 100 workers, a 10 per cent completion rate means roughly $225,000 of the budget bought nothing. The money was already spent. The delivery mechanism failed.

Classroom sessions pull staff off the floor

Daytime instruction assumes people can leave their post. On rotating rosters that forces a choice between coverage and upskilling.

A video call is a blank room

General meeting tools give you a room and nothing else: no structure, no accountability, no participation record, and nothing built for cellular connections.

What we provide

The delivery layer, not the course

Live peer-study groups, around the clock

Small cohorts that assemble around actual availability rather than a fixed timetable, so people on twelve-hour rotations can take part during their own downtime.

Sessions that survive a weak signal

When bandwidth drops the room keeps live audio and the shared canvas running instead of freezing. Built for mobile data, not assumed wifi.

Bring your own curriculum

We sell no content and supply no instructors. You bring your material and your credentialed educators. We provide the structure they run it in.

The facilitator sees the work as it happens

What each participant writes and draws mirrors live to the facilitator's screen, so a misunderstanding is caught in the session rather than at assessment.

Participation recorded to the minute

Every session logs exactly when each person joined and left, giving you participation evidence rather than a completion tick.

An AI tutor between sessions

Available at any hour for questions that come up outside the group, and able to hand over to a person when someone wants one.

What we do not provide

Curriculum or textbooks. Instructors or trainers. Credentials or awarding. The teaching stays with you and your institution; we are the delivery layer underneath it.

The evidence

Why facilitated cohorts finish

FormatCompletionSource
Self-paced online courses3–15%MIT (2013–2018), Columbia Teachers College, Open University UK
Live cohort with a facilitator85–98%Harvard Business School Online, altMBA, Esme Learning

Same material. The difference is peer accountability, a facilitator, and a fixed time to show up.

It holds at national scale

Singapore’s SkillsFuture programme reports a 5.8 per cent wage premium in the year after training (Ministry of Education, 2020), 75 per cent of employers reporting improved retention (2019), and 2.2 per cent productivity gains sustained over two years (2021).

People advance without leaving work

The NHS Nursing Associate apprenticeship has more than 7,800 practitioners registered, combining employment with structured study rather than asking people to step out of the workforce to upskill.

These are published results from other organisations’ programmes, cited to show why facilitated cohort learning works. We publish our own cohort data as it accumulates.

Funding

Evidence funders ask for

Many institutions already hold allocated upskilling funds and lack a delivery mechanism that works for shift workers. Public funding typically requires evidence of participation before disbursement, which is exactly what per-session attendance logging provides. We can work with your team on what your funder requires.

Security and integration

Built to work with your IT team

Each organisation’s data is held separately, encrypted in transit and at rest. Single sign-on, LMS integration via LTI, and dedicated tenant infrastructure are on our roadmap, and we are glad to work to your requirements as part of a pilot.

How it starts

Start with one cohort

No long procurement before you have seen it work.

01

Tell us the need

The subject, who it is for, the shift patterns, and any funding requirements you have to satisfy.

02

We draft the plan

A session-by-session outline within minutes, which you change before anything is agreed.

03

Run one cohort

Real sessions, real participation records. You see the evidence before scaling.

04

Scale what worked

Add cohorts as the pilot proves out. Pricing agreed directly, based on size and scope.

Tell us what your people need to learn

Describe the group and the subject. You will have a proposed plan to react to within minutes, and a person to talk to after that.
